Am I Dreaming' seeks to bring together artists from all mediums to explore the strangeness of subconscious & the world that sits behind realiy.

Creatives are invited to make work surrounding this theme to bring to life a living exhibition celebrating the diversity of Naarm’s art scene. The exhibition will take place at the Old Bar Gallery & will be accompanied by a launch event with three live musicians playing tunes throughout the evening.

The Canvas Book Issue 2 serves Naarm’s creative community by offering a multidisciplinary platform for makers to share their work & connect with audiences. While the Canvas Book #2, serves this purpose using the medium of print, the accompanying launch event/exhibition will follow suit & offer a living, breathing melting pot of Naarm’s creatives.

All copies of the Canvas Book Issue 2 will be available for purchase on the night! We can’t wait to share with you all the final product of this collaborative project which hosts works from over 50 artists… Our biggest project yet!

In this spirit, there will be a visual art exhibition will representing a variety of artists from multiple mediums who have showcased work in the book. There is no theme for exhibiting artists & complete creative license is given space to roam.

Of course, what would be a launch event in an art / music venue without LIVE MUSIC!?

As such, we will also be having 3x live bands from Naarm’s music scene providing the tunes & atmosphere for patrons to boogie the night away & absorb all that art.

This puppy will kicking off December with a BANG, filling The Fitzroy Art Collective with live music, art & good company.

The art of the evening is in response to 3x seperate prompts; 'Coming Home', 'This Uncertain Freedom' & 'Disco Trip' & is guaranteed to deliver arty eye-candy to all attending.

An open mic will initiate the night & the following tunes will be tailored by a skilled line-up of DJ's & musicians, providing an atmosphere to get you grooving while digesting the art & visuals.

The event is BYO & we invite you to bring your liquor of choice to sip on throughout the evening. If you head in early you can enjoy a complimentary beer from our sponsors - Bodriggy Brewery co

To launch The Canvas Book book we had an evening of live music, art, performance, good dance moves and good company to celebrate the efforts of all the amazing creatives and audiences involved in the project.

In late Feb, 2021 co-founder, Jack Murphy released his debut photobook, '“The Adventures of Frog Boy.”

We celebrated the launch of Frog Boy with loads of art & music at the Fitzroy Art Collective. Needless to say, it was a sick night.
